Senior Technical Recruiter

The Company

A lot of companies say they’re “mission-driven.” Our unique corporate structure guarantees that every decision we make upholds our mission: to make sure the internet stays available, safe, and welcoming to everyone. Beholden to neither shareholders nor investors, Mozilla Corporation is wholly owned by the not-for-profit Mozilla Foundation.

Along with 20,000+ volunteer contributors and collaborators worldwide, Mozilla Corporation’s staff designs, builds, and distributes software that allows people to enjoy the internet on their terms. Our flagship product — the Firefox browser — has expanded into a family of products that protect users and alerts them of risks.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Mozilla mission-aligned Senior Technical Recruiter to help us grow our engineering teams with people that represent our current and growing consumer base. If you are a recruiter that understands core engineering competencies and “interviewing-in” frameworks and opportunities, this role is for you.

Mozilla is modernizing and evolving how we recruit. This evolution requires a growth mindset. You will lead recruiting strategies, build key stakeholder relationships, and develop strategic candidate outreach while working with a curious, kind, and passionate team.

Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging are central to our modernization efforts, and we are weaving them into every aspect of how we recruit. We aim to create a richly diverse and equitable recruiting function where we intentionally seek out and replace biased hiring practices of the past with objective and inclusive practices that align with our mission, manifesto, and racial justice commitments.

What You’ll Do

  • Act as a talent advisor and subject matter authority for engineering leadership (sourcing through close) to deeply understand their teams and hiring needs while making hiring recommendations that align with core DE&I concepts
  • Demonstrate your advisory and consultative skills with Hiring Managers to craft and implement inclusive hiring behaviors and interview practices
  • Take a data-driven approach and provide insights to identify trends and recommend solutions to improve hiring practices and build a healthy candidate pipeline
  • Develop an extensive understanding of the business to speak passionately to candidates about our Employer Value Proposition
  • Deploy creative ways to improve candidate experience while handling large applicant volume
  • Contribute to the growth of Mozilla’s recruiting function by using data insights to proactively develop and refine processes
  • Actively research and network with diverse (e.g. BIPOC, LGBQTA+) organizations and groups, attending events as appropriate

What You Bring

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Shown success as a full-cycle recruiter consistently supporting an average of 10-12 technical roles and making 4+ hires per month
  • Prior experience evaluating emerging to Director+ level Python, JavaScript, Rust, C++ engineering talent
  • Experience building sourcing strategies for technical talent that go beyond LinkedIn Recruiter, particularly with members of diverse communities (e.g. BIPOC and LQBQTA+)
  • Confidence in working with first time and experienced hiring managers; identifying and countering non-inclusive practices
  • Knowledge of core DE&I concepts and structured hiring practices such as writing inclusive job descriptions, blind resume screening; candidate scorecards, interview questions, scoring rubrics, and debrief practices
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills; you communicate effectively and build strong, productive relationships with candidates, hiring managers, peers, and senior leadership
  • Thrives in startup culture and wears multiple hats; is not opposed to owning processes end-to-end (sourcing, scheduling, offers, and everything in between)

Bonus Points For:

  • In-house recruitment experience in small to mid-sized consumer technology product organizations
  • A builder who’s comfortable with ambiguity; you want to be a part of developing and growing something new
  • Supporting recruitment outside the US (Canada, Germany, France, UK)
  • Prior experience with Greenhouse Applicant Tracking System
  • Data savvy; you use market insights to define and guide your recruiting strategy
